To provide visually impaired customers with accessible documents at the click of a button, in accordance with legal requirements and the principle of inclusion in accessibility, a leading investment firm in Israel evaluated several document accessibility solutions. After a thorough process, they chose Consist’s solution.
We asked the project manager to tell us about the process and how Consist’s solutions currently enable the organization to automate the accessibility of a vast number of documents for the benefit of visually impaired customers.
Can you briefly describe how you arrived at Consist’s document accessibility solutions – NAGIX and PB DIGITAL?
Previously, we outsourced all documents for manual accessibility by external companies, a rather cumbersome process. Given that a large investment firm like ours has numerous documents requiring accessibility – reports for investors and members of provident and pension funds, public reports to the stock exchange, protocols, and more – we realized we needed a system that would allow us to make all these documents and forms accessible efficiently and automatically. This is not only to meet regulatory requirements and the principle of inclusion in accessibility but mainly to provide visually impaired customers with an efficient, advanced, and respectful service experience.
After evaluating several solutions, we decided to go with Consist’s document accessibility solutions – NAGIX / PB DIGITAL – due to the automatic document accessibility technology and Consist’s implementation and support system, which includes implementers, developers, support, and project managers. It’s a comprehensive package of implementation and support – a significant advantage that ultimately proved itself.
How does the document accessibility process work after implementing the systems?
The advantage of the document accessibility technology we chose is reflected in the efficiency with which the system allows creating master templates for all types of documents in the organization that require accessibility. Once the accessibility implementer creates a template for a document – such as a member report or a stock exchange report – the system server saves the template. When a visually impaired person requests an accessible version of any document, they simply press a button on the keyboard, and the system immediately generates an accessible PDF that can be listened to using assistive technology/listening software.
So now you employ accessibility implementers who create the templates?
Absolutely. After implementing the system in our organization and receiving quick training from Consist’s team on its use, our system implementers can provide a solution for any type of document requiring accessibility, even when dealing with complex documents containing tables, nested tables, graphs, and many other documents.
Can you tell us a bit about working with the team at Consist?
Working with the team at Consist was very efficient, service-oriented, and extremely friendly. For everything we requested – training, support, answers to questions, etc. – we received quick and efficient responses. Whenever we needed help and guidance, we found a partner willing to do everything to make the process work as best as possible. This ties back to what I mentioned earlier about one of the reasons we chose Consist’s solution – the service, support, and guidance, alongside the technology, provide a perfect solution.
The entire training process for our implementers on operating the system was excellent, and Consist’s knowledge and experience in document accessibility contributed significantly to us. As a result, the learning process was very quick, and I was personally surprised by the speed and efficiency with which our internal implementation team grasped the concept of document accessibility – even the most complex ones. It’s a great pleasure to work this way!
